Editors Note I may be showing my age here, but there's nothing like June that puts something extra in my step, and a song to the ears. To all the new subscribers, a hearty thank you. I am appreciative for everyone caring so much for our newsletters that they would take the time to read and possibly gain something from them. The smiles are on the house :) New headsets from GN Netcom This has to be one of the best ideas I've seen from GN Netcom; an amplifier that is fully compatible with GN, ACS and Unex brand headsets. As you may know, GN is the parent company of ACS and Unex headsets, as well as several other ventures. It only makes sense to have one amplifier that fits all three brands, instead of one for each brand as it has been. It also makes it easier for the department managers that have several different brands of headsets in their departments; the convenience of ordering one style base unit instead of several different models. The amplifier, named the "8000 series", features a headset stand with optional online indicator, that lights to let others know that you're on the phone. Much better than having to "hold up a finger" to let a potential interrupter mess up your train of thought. In addition, the new 2100 series headsets offer great improvements in sound quality and comfort as well. You can see more about these headsets here. When the phone line goes dead... Recently, a recruiter was on a call with a potential applicant who worked at a major telecom company when suddenly, the line went dead. Quickly calling back, the call was answered by the receptionist, who said that the individual was part of it's latest round of cutbacks. I've heard that the big telecom companies can be cold-hearted, but surely they could have emailed his pink slip... Helpful Site of the Week Simply one of the best sources for information, plus free downloads. Joke of the day The little boy greeted his grandmother with a hug and said, "I'm so happy to see you grandma! Now maybe daddy will do the trick he has been promising us." The grandmother was curious. "What trick is that my dear?" she asked. The little boy replied, "I heard daddy tell mommy that he would climb the walls if you came to visit us again." Thank you for reading The Phonex Times!
